The home page of Biola University’s Department of Art
The Department of Art website was a standard department template, and it needed a content and design refresh. Since it promotes an art degree, we needed the design to highlight the creativity in the department. There are also a variety of art programs, so we wanted to make sure all the different areas were being represented. The banner area was a key spot for spotlighting student work.

At the top of every page, student artwork is prominently displayed. The artwork also changes whenever the page is loaded, so we’re able to highlight a lot of different artwork. The user is directed to the Galleries page if they want to see more.
If users are interested in seeing all of the student artwork available for viewing, there is a page dedicated to it. The user can quickly jump to the fields their interested in or scroll through the page on their own.
In addition to seeing what students have created, it’s important to also show what our alumni are doing now with their art degree. Understanding student outcomes is an important part of the college search, so we made sure to include it here.
